Meetings

The SMS hold meetings on a biannual basis at venues throughout Scotland. In the past several years we have held meetings in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow. We have also been the recipient of FEMS meeting sponsorship to host a very successful two day meeting on  ‘Hospital Acquired Infections’ in September 2006 at Glasgow Caledonian University. Last year the University of Glasgow hosted a one day clinical microbiology meeting in late August, covering bacteriology, mycology and virology, which provided the opportunity for postgraduate students to present both through posters and oral presentations. We aim to hold the same format of meeting at the University of Glasgow again this August. If you are interested in attending or having one of your student present then please contact any of the committee members.
